Our first participating school has several Marine Science classes with lots of commitment and caring for our Earth-special thanks to teacher Jeff Manker. They are studying about plastic pollution in the ocean this year and how it affects ocean creatures.

Jeff suggests another website as well: http://www.algalita.org/. "Algalita is a group that is working very hard on the marine debris problem (a huge problem)..." "Many marine creatures are hurt or killed by our trash in the ocean every year. Reducing, recycling and reusing is probably the best way to help and is something that every young person can do, every day."
