Wildlife

Here we have some great shots of wildlife. There is also some information about it right below the animal, if you would like to learn something while you are here. My family and I took all of these pictures.

This is a Capuchin monkey. They live mostly in South America. They only live in rain forests. They eat fruits, nuts, seeds, insects, spiders, and bird eggs. They have cute little white faces and black bodys, and jump very fast from tree to tree.

This is a Glasswing Butterfly. They live in South America, too. They feed on nectar from flowers. They are called Glasswing Butterflys bcause their wings look like glass. Can you see through them?

This is a Leaf Katydid.
Of course, they live in South America, too. See how well they blend in with thier suroundings? That is called camoflaging. They are always on leaves, usually on the top, and I don't know what they eat, so I can't tell you.

This is a baby sloth. My family and I saw him with his mom. There are two different kinds of sloths: two-toed sloths and three-toed sloths. I think this is a three-toed sloth. They eat leaves.

Here is an okay shot of a deer. They eat grass, leaves, stuff like that. They live in forests in, as you can guess, South America, so they eat more than just leaves and grass, like little plants, and sometimes they snitch a bite of apple from an apple tree nearby. That is not on their food chart, though. This is a tree frog, a Red-Eyed tree frog. It is in a cage, a glass cage, but it doesn't look like he is. Red-Eyed tree frogs live on leaves. They usually hang out on the bottom of leaves, and it is hard to see them, since we only see the tops of the leaves. They live on plants, not trees.
Here is a Scarlet Macaw. They are birds, as you can see. They are a kind of parrot. They feed on mostly seeds, fruits, leaves, flowers, and/or bark. They fly, unlike penguins, who can't fly. They are called Scarlet Macaws because They are a Scarlet color. Scarlet is a kind of red. Aren't these wonderful birds beautiful? They have blue tails, which makes them even more beautiful. This is a bottlenose dolphin. They live all over the world, and have sleek, streamlined bodies that help them dart quickly through the water after prey and away from predators.. Their prey consists of a wide variety fish, squid, and crustaceans such as shrimp. They are grey all over, except on their noses, which are white, and shaped vaguely like bottles, which is how they got their names.
